Apple has officially announced the date for its upcoming developer conference, WWDC 2025, which is set for June 9. At this event, the company is expected to unveil iOS 19 along with several other updates.
Bloomberg analyst Mark Gurman has indicated that iOS 19 is anticipated to be a more substantial update than initially thought, featuring a redesigned interface influenced by visionOS. This upgrade could introduce several noteworthy changes aimed at enhancing user experience.
In a recent video, popular YouTuber Jon Prosser shared details regarding the new features in iOS 19, highlighting that the interface will markedly differ from iOS 18. Although there are challenges related to the integration of Apple Intelligence features, users can still look forward to numerous enhancements in this upcoming version of the operating system.
One of the most talked-about potential features is the ability for users to customize the shape of app icons, which have traditionally been square with rounded edges. This change could represent one of the most significant updates to the iPhone operating system this year.
Furthermore, Prosser noted that many interface elements in iOS 19 are expected to feature transparency effects, creating a blurred backdrop for pop-ups and other components. The default keyboard is also slated for a redesign, incorporating transparency to distinguish it from the current version.
Prosser also shared images showcasing the Messages app with a similar transparency effect, but Gurman suggests that these modifications may only scratch the surface of what Apple plans to announce at WWDC 2025. He believes that while iOS 19 will present major upgrades, it will still maintain certain similarities to its predecessor.
In summary, iOS 19 is poised to introduce several significant improvements; however, it remains to be seen how Apple will address users’ expectations regarding features related to Apple Intelligence.
