Spotify is reportedly preparing to launch a new premium service package called ‘Spotify Music Pro’ by the end of this year, following years of speculation. According to a report from Gsmarena, this information was confirmed by Bloomberg, indicating that Spotify aims to offer a completely new music experience to its users.
The Spotify Music Pro service is expected to introduce several valuable upgrades, with a price point exceeding the current Premium package of $11.99 per month by over $6. This increased cost will come with several appealing features:
- Hi-Fi High-Quality Sound: One of the most anticipated features is the introduction of lossless audio quality, comparable to services offered by Tidal and Apple Music.
- Music Editing Tools: Spotify Music Pro will provide users with unique tools to edit music, enabling them to mix their favorite tracks in a personalized style. Users will have the capability to adjust the tempo, create mashups, and more.
- Exclusive Concert Tickets: Subscribers to Music Pro will benefit from prioritized access to concert tickets and music events, a significant advantage for fans eager to attend live performances.
Bloomberg’s report also indicated that Spotify has already secured agreements with major labels Universal and Warner for the Music Pro package, while negotiations with Sony are still ongoing. Record labels are supportive of this initiative, as they believe it could generate additional revenue streams. Some industry experts have even suggested that Spotify should align its pricing with that of Netflix, proposing a monthly fee of around 20 USD.
The anticipated launch of Spotify Music Pro highlights the company’s ambition to compete more aggressively with rivals such as Apple Music and Amazon Music. By offering high-fidelity sound quality and unique features, Spotify aims to attract more users and boost its sales.
