CrowdStrike CEO was involved in the 2010 global computer crash

“CrowdStrike CEO George Kurtz has faced multiple large-scale computer crash incidents. Most recently, a CrowdStrike software update problem caused errors on 8.5 million Windows devices globally. This isn’t his first experience with such issues. Back in 2010, while serving as the CTO of McAfee, he was involved in a similar incident that caused widespread computer crashes due to a software update error in the McAfee security program.

The repeated incidents raise questions about CrowdStrike’s management capacity and quality control processes. Allegations from current and former employees on Glassdoor also suggest a toxic work environment and excessive KPI pressure at the company.

George Kurtz has apologized for the recent incident and assured that CrowdStrike is working to rectify the consequences. However, the incident has caused significant damage to businesses and organizations worldwide, prompting concerns about the reliability of cybersecurity solutions.

Experts view this as a wake-up call for technology companies, emphasizing the critical importance of thorough testing before releasing software updates, particularly for influential software that impacts users’ systems.”
