Apple is about to bring ‘AI doctor’ to users

Apple is set to enhance its Health app with a new version codenamed “Mulberry,” which will feature an AI agent designed to provide personalized health recommendations akin to those of a medical professional, as reported by Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman.

To ensure the accuracy and reliability of the content, Apple is collaborating with various medical experts, including specialists in sleep, nutrition, physical therapy, and cardiology. These experts will create instructional videos aimed at users. Additionally, the company is in search of a qualified physician to act as a “host” for this new service, potentially named Health+.

Filming for these videos is anticipated to take place at a facility in Oakland, California. The AI agent will function as a health coach, utilizing user data from both the Health app and the Apple Watch to generate tailored recommendations. This feature is expected to be introduced in the iOS 19.4 update, scheduled for release next spring.

However, there are concerns regarding whether the “AI doctor” feature will be launched on time, especially considering the challenges Apple has encountered in developing AI technologies, which have led to the postponement of an enhanced version of Siri until 2026. The company recognizes that any inaccuracies in medical advice could significantly impact its reputation.

Further updates on this project are anticipated in the coming months as Apple strives to enhance the health experience for its users.
